YOUNGGUNS SUCKS!!!

Because;

Organizators are not serious.

They don't have jury president.

Still they didn't announce the winners.

If I'm wrong someone must prove it.

I agree... I will never take part of it anymore.

Totally disagree. Young Guns, although not recognised as one of the big ones, is still a credible show and the informality of it all (no jury president and a late release of results) only confirms that it's fun, cheeky, and young.

It's a money-making scheme, nothing more or less. Show me an awards show in the world that discriminates against young creatives, or a decent agency that does likewise, and I'll take it back. We're the last industry in the world that needs an awards show with a youth focus. Pointless.

Give me a break, a decent agency that doesn't discriminate against the young? Bullshit. I know it seems sometimes that the industry is youth-biased given the amount of 'Senior Creatives' under 30 we seem to have nowadays. But I've worked in some big name agencies as a youngster and there was no-way of getting a decent brief. Never. Ever. All the juicy stuff was always the sole domain of the oldies. As a proud Young Guns winner a couple of times over I can honestly tell you that they are a great show, well run, well judged (please, look at the quality of the juries each year, Bogusky et all) and they opened a few opportunities for young creatives like us to keep growing and get noticed. I actually can't enter anymore, but I still support them wholeheartedly. It all sounds like a big bunch of sour grapes y'all.

Where is Trevor Beattie? He was going to chair to the jury. Why he didn't come? Is there any explanation about that? No. Because you're young creatives, you deserve a cheeky small award but not a an explanation. Can you imagine if David Droga cancels his presidentship on Cannes nobody will talk about it from the festivals? This is the difference.

I agree, but isn't Andy Fackrell enough? What about the quality and credibility of the other judges? Was it ever intended to be the Trevor Beattie show? In fact, Droga also cancelled his commitment a few years back but another international gun took his place. To slam the credibility of a show based on who's the chairman de jour is just plain stupid, given that chairmen generally never cast a vote! Keep a bit of objectivity, man. It's still a good show. And it's always a killer party too...
